Nassau, Bahamas – Athletes from the Turks and Caicos Islands are making waves at the Carifta Aquatics Championship in Nassau, showcasing remarkable talent and dedication on day 1 of the competition.
In the 13-14 boys category, Jayden Davis demonstrated his prowess by securing a spot in the finals of the 100m Butterfly with a stellar time of 1:01.84, positioning him as the 3rd seed and placing him in contention for a medal in the upcoming finals.
Thais Burgess also showcased her strength in the 15-17 girls 200m Breaststroke, achieving a commendable time of 3:27.98, earning her a respectable 9th place finish just outside of the finals. Isaac Farley, a promising newcomer to the Carifta Aquatics scene, impressed with a 10th place finish in the boys 11-12 200m Breaststroke, clocking in at 3:51.05.
The outstanding performances of these athletes underscore the dedication and hard work instilled by the Turks and Caicos Islands Swim Federation. Moreover, the competition witnessed remarkable personal bests achieved by several athletes, including Jeffrey Joseph, Rishith Gururaja, Gabrielle Martin, Anaiah Alleyne, Lenika Hamilton, and Hayley Williams, who showcased remarkable improvements in their times.
