PDM Unveils ‘Fantastic Five’ Team for 2025 Election, Promises People-Centered Governance

The People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) has unveiled its team, dubbed the ‘Fantastic Five’, who they hope will secure victory in the 2025 election against the government’s candidates.

The team consists of Robert Been, Ruth Ariza, Karen Malcolm, Sean Astwood, and Ralph Higgs, carefully selected based on the needs and desires of the people, according to Ezra Taylor, PDM Party National Chairman.

Astwood emphasized the transparency of the selection process, which involved surveys with over 1,000 respondents to gauge public opinion on potential candidates. He reassured the public that there was no manipulation in the selection process, and the decisions were made based on the votes of party members.

Each candidate was assessed by the Candidates Commission and chosen based on their strengths and weaknesses, with the top-scoring candidates ultimately selected to represent the party.

The chosen candidates expressed their gratitude and commitment to serving the people, with Karen Adams Malcolm highlighting her dedication to a ‘people-centered party’ and Ruth Adams Ariza expressing her eagerness to empower the community.

Robert Been emphasized his focus on building a TCI that benefits everyone, while Ralph Higgs assured that the team would deliver results for the Turks and Caicos Islands based on their track record and experience.

Despite the tough decision, Astwood assured that there could still be opportunities for other applicants, with the possibility of additional All Island candidates or placement at the constituency level.

The announcement for the district seats is expected to come in April, further shaping the landscape for the upcoming election.
