UK Home Office Minister Lord Sharpe OBE met with the Executive and senior officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force yesterday (November 02nd) to discuss policing in the TCI.
Accompanying Lord Sharpe OBE was Her Excellency The Governor, Ms Dileeni Daniel Selvaratnam.
The topics discussed included an overview of the structure, capacities and capabilities of the Force, crime and some requirements to police the TCI and safeguard communities effectively.
The meeting was held at Police Headquarters, Airport Road, Providenciales, and present were Acting Commissioner of Police Mr Rodney Adams, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Kendall Grant, Superintendent (Operational Response and Community Policing) Mr Dwight Gardiner, Superintendent (Special Operations) Mr Mat Newton and Inspector (National Crime Intelligence Bureau) Mr William Lightbourne.
