Mega mansion in Providenciales sells for a record $33.5 Million
A mega mansion in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands with more than 200 feet of water frontage has sold in an off-market deal for $33.5 million; the most expensive residential
The residence was sold by Paul Tarvin, the founder of the furniture company Front gate, after a years-long renovation project, said listing agent Nina Siegenthaler of Turks & Caicos Sotheby’s International Realty. The deal, which closed last week, marks the first for more than $30 million in the country.
“The sellers spent a couple of years demolishing, designing and rebuilding this beautiful home,” she said.
In a Manson Global interview, Siegenthaler declined to comment on the buyer, but noted that the finished product was a selling point, as buyers are looking for move-in ready mansions.
“The majority of high-end sales this year occurred in the pre-construction, luxury new development sector, which is servicing the increasing demand for high-quality homes amid an otherwise limited inventory of available and completed homes,” she said. “The potential challenges and time involved in a custom project increased the attraction of this turnkey, newly completed masterpiece, and led to a swift closing.”
The mansion, which is called “Sole E Mare”, which translates to sun and sea, the property is located on Pelican Beach, which offers fine white sand and is an extension of world-renowned Grace Bay. It includes a main house and a guest house with a total of 12,000 square feet and 270-degree views of the water, according to the listing.
The home was most recently used as a short-term, staffed vacation rental, fetching between $19,000 and $39,000 per night, depending on the season, according to an online listing.
The mansion’s contemporary design offers clean lines and walls of windows to take in the vistas, as well as 12 bedrooms between the main and guest houses. No surprise, the design celebrates the indoor-outdoor lifestyle and offers an array of amenities, including a 100-foot pool with a mosaic finish, a 16-person hot tub, a sunken conversation pit and a fire feature, plus covered and uncovered terraces, listing photos show.
Other features include a custom-made dining table made from a solid slab of 100-year-old wood, a wet bar, a private salon, solar panels and a power-storage wall system.
