Jamaican Travelers Charged for Concealing $11M JD Cash In Transit From TCI

In a significant development, two Jamaican nationals are facing legal action following allegations of concealing a substantial sum of US$70,000 while traveling from Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). According to reports from Jamaican authorities, the individuals, whose identities have been revealed as Baker and Blair, purportedly hid the funds within hair product containers stowed in their luggage during their recent entry into the country.

The charges against them include possession of criminal property, cross-border movement of funds, bringing criminal property into Jamaica, concealing criminal property, and conspiracy to bring criminals into the country. Police sources have confirmed the discovery of US$39,828 and US$30,460 in the possessions of Baker and Blair, respectively, during security searches.

The case is being handled by detectives from the Narcotics Police Division, and the suspects are scheduled to appear before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court to answer to these serious charges. Stay tuned for further updates as this story unfolds.
