Haitian Man, Known as ‘Black,’ Victim of Murder No. 9

In a tragic turn of events, a man known only as “Black” was found shot to death in Providenciales, marking the ninth homicide in the Turks and Caicos Islands this year.

Authorities are now grappling with uncovering the motive behind the murder, which occurred in Five Cays on Monday, March 18. Despite speculation surrounding the circumstances of the man’s death, police are diligently investigating to determine both the motive and the victim’s identity.

According to a police report from Monday night, authorities received the distressing call at 9:17 pm, leading them to discover the lifeless body of the victim, described as a Haitian national. Clad in long blue pants and a black t-shirt, the man’s body was found in a twisted position, suggesting a potential fall from a significant height.

Interestingly, the scene lacked the expected presence of a copious amount of blood typically associated with gunshot wounds. However, parts of the victim’s clothing appeared to be soaked, and a small trickle of blood was observed near his hands, adding to the mystery surrounding the killing.

Despite efforts to unravel the circumstances, the surrounding community remains largely unaware of the events leading to the tragic demise of “Black.” One individual informed Magnetic Media that the victim was known for selling colognes and perfumes as an on-the-road merchant, further deepening the enigma surrounding the case.
