Haitian Gang Member Faces Charges Amidst Chalk Sound Burglary Spree
In a recent interception operation , authorities in the Turks and Caicos Islands thwarted the attempted entry of 31 individuals, among them Mackenson Charles, alleged to be an illegal alien with a history of attempted re-entry. The interception occurred at Muddy Point, Kew in North Caicos, underscoring the ongoing efforts to secure the nation’s borders.
Mackenson Charles, previously deported to Haiti on multiple occasions, was apprehended along with other individuals, including identified Haitian gang members and a Bahamian, aboard the intercepted vessel.
The significance of Charles’ capture was heightened as authorities allegedly discovered his fingerprints at two separate dwelling homes in Chalk Sound, indicating his involvement in burglaries and unlawful entries. Female Police Detective Stelisa Hall laid four criminal charges against Charles, comprising two counts of burglary and two counts of unlawful entry.
The charges detail Charles’ alleged unauthorized entries between April 1st, 2023, and January 31st, 2024, as well as his purported involvement in burglaries on specific dates. One burglary occurred on December 9th, 2023, at Casa De Isle, Ocean Point Drive in Chalk Sound, where valuables including an iPhone 14 Pro and currency were reported stolen from the residence of Ms. Susan Bristow and Mr. David Leveaux.
Additionally, a second burglary was reported on July 28th, 2023, at Villa View, Harbor Gates, also in Chalk Sound, where belongings such as a wedding band, a green Bum Lulu Lemon bag, and an Apple Watch, along with cash, were allegedly pilfered from the home of Ms. Elizabeth Strauss.
Mackenson Charles appeared before the Magistrate’s court on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, where the cases were adjourned for mention on Tuesday, April 2nd. The legal proceedings underscore the gravity of the charges brought against Charles and the commitment of law enforcement to uphold justice and safeguard the community from criminal activities.
