Governor Meets Mark Fenhalls KC to Advance Criminal Justice System Review

In a significant development aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the criminal justice system, Her Excellency the Governor engaged in discussions with Mark Fenhalls KC. Fenhalls, tasked by the National Security Council and supported by the UK Ministry of Justice, is spearheading a comprehensive review of case progression within the criminal justice system. During the meeting, Fenhalls shared insights into his collaboration with the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions and her team to identify key factors impacting the efficiency of the Criminal Justice System (CJS). The aim is to address these factors and lay the groundwork for long-term improvements in capability and capacity. In addition to meeting with the Acting Director of Public Prosecutions, Fenhalls also held discussions with the Chief Justice and police leadership, underscoring the collaborative approach in driving systemic enhancements within the criminal justice landscape.
