Edward Hall Appointed Deputy Director of Strategic Planning and Policy Department

The Office of the Deputy Governor is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Edward Hall as the Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and Policy Department (SPPD) within the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.

Mr. Hall commenced his journey in the public service in April 2013 as a Statistician within the then Strategic Planning and Policy Unit (SPPU) (now Statistics Authority). His significant contributions to pivotal projects including The Labor Force Survey, Consumer Price Index (CPI), Survey of Departing Visitors, Census, and Balance of Payments (BOP) have been immensely valuable. He has undergone various training programs as a member of the Department of Statistics, covering areas such as National Accounts Statistics, Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS), International Comparison Program (ICP), and External Sector Statistics workshops.

Transitioning to the Budget Department in January 2020 as a Senior Budget Analyst, Mr. Hall engaged with every department and ministry in TCIG, aiding in the profiling and projection of their revenues and expenditures, and preparation of their Program Performance Budgets. Subsequently, in September 2021, he assumed the role of Policy Analyst within SPPD, significantly contributing to advancing government policy initiatives and assisting departments and ministries in formulating their policy objectives.

Mr. Hall holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Marketing (2012) from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom and has furthered his education with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of London (2020), supported by the Professional Development Fund. He is also a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) with the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has completed various other certifications and training programs.

Reflecting on his appointment, Mr. Hall expressed gratitude, quoting: “O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34.

I am enthusiastic about contributing to the growth and prosperity of our nation in this capacity. I extend my gratitude to my family, support team, and the numerous colleagues across TCIG who have supported my growth and development. Special thanks to the SPPD team with whom I am privileged to work. I eagerly anticipate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and pledge to do my utmost in this new role.”

Her Excellency Anya Williams, Head of the Public Service and Deputy Governor, commented on Mr. Hall’s appointment, stating, “It is with great pleasure that I extend my congratulations to Mr. Edward Hall on his appointment as the Deputy Director of the Strategic Planning and Policy Department within the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.

Mr. Hall, a talented Turks and Caicos Islander, has demonstrated a dedicated commitment to serving the people of our country. His versatility across various roles within his discipline and his continuous efforts towards professional development, notably achieving the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), are commendable.

Assuming this senior role, Mr. Hall will play a pivotal part in shaping government policies through informed data analysis and comprehensive insights. His educational background and experience make him one of the most suitable candidates within the public service for this responsibility.
