Mario Smith’s Unbeaten Century Propels Kishco Over Jaguars
A blistering unbeaten century from Mario Smith enabled Kishco Cricket Club to secure their first win of the season beating the Jaguars by 20 runs, as the Turks and Caicos Islands Cricket Association (TCICA) T20 Competition continued Sunday, May 5, at the Downtown Ball Park, Providenciales.
Kishco won the toss and decided to bat, and their batters did not disappoint, as they chalked up an impressive 186 runs for the loss of 4 wickets from their allotted 20 overs.
Mario Smith was the star of the day, walking with his bat after punishing the bowlers to reach 114 runs, which was decorated with 11 fours and 8 maximums. Smijo Devassy contributed 30 runs, which consisted of five 4s.
Bowling for the Jaguars, Daniel Bourne, Paul McKenzie, and Ravi Kumar took one wicket a piece.
In reply Jaguars failed to reach the prescribed score, reaching 166 for 8 wickets from their 20 overs. Ravi Kumar led the way with 54 runs, laced with six 4s. Vaurice Gervis contributed 22 runs consisting of three 4s fours, Bradly Singh chipped in with 18 runs.
Bowling for Kishco, Smijo Devassy captured 4 wickets for 31 runs from his four overs. Vinod Panikar and Alston Byfield took one wicket each.
