Turks and Caicos Police Investigate Tragic Shooting Deaths
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force expresses heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of Anlinco John Lightbourne and Omarion Gardiner.
Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams has condemned the shooting deaths of both individuals as tragic and senseless, deeply affecting communities in the TCI.
Acting Commissioner Adams stated, “Homicide detectives are actively probing these separate incidents. Preliminary investigations indicate that at approximately 11:38 pm on April 20th, a shooting incident was reported at the Chalk Sound Police Station. Upon dispatch to a location in the Bight, Providenciales, officers discovered the lifeless body of 31-year-old Mr. Lightbourne.”
“The second incident occurred today at 3:18 am in Grand Turk. Investigations reveal that Mr. Gardiner, 20, was with friends when three armed assailants attacked the group. Grand Turk Police Station officers were alerted, initiating searches along Duke Street. Mr. Gardiner’s body was subsequently discovered. Both victims sustained gunshot wounds, indicating a targeted assault.”
