Brazen Robberies Rattle Grand Turk Residents, Prompting Police Vigilance

Once again, residents of the Capital are on edge following yet another brazen robbery, leaving locals concerned as criminals seem to be targeting residents and waiting for opportune moments to strike.

The latest incident, described by police as “undoubtedly distressing,” occurred late Sunday night around 11:21 p.m. when four masked men, three armed, invaded a Grand Turk home and robbed the occupants before fleeing on foot.

This alarming trend of targeted robberies has left residents feeling uneasy, particularly after similar incidents earlier in the year. In March, a couple was robbed by individuals who were already at their home upon their return. Similarly, on another occasion in March, a man was ambushed at his home by waiting culprits.

In February, a dramatic ambush attempt was caught on CCTV, where a group of men attempted to corner a business owner as a gunman tried to force him out of his vehicle.

Responding to the recent robbery, police have launched an extensive investigation and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspects. Additionally, reports of stolen property, such as a white golf cart, have prompted heightened vigilance and patrols in the area.
