The Turks and Caicos Islands was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of beloved pastor, preacher, father, husband, friend and community man, Rev. Wayde Coleby of Healing Waters Ministries.

The Turks and Caicos Islands was shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of beloved pastor, preacher, father, husband, friend and community man, Rev. Wayde Coleby of Healing Waters Ministries. He was 67.

Pastor Wayde Coleby passed away on Sunday January 14th, 2024. The cause of his death was not yet confirmed up to the time of this report.

His loss is truly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Pastor Coleby’s radiant personality, unwavering positivity, and his dedication to his role as a pastor have left an indelible mark on the lives of many in Turks and Caicos community.

In a statement on his passing, Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Philip “Brave” Davis stated: “With profound sadness, my wife, Ann Marie, and I extend our deepest condolences to the Honourable Jobeth Coleby-Davis, Minister of Transport and Energy, and her family on the passing of her father, Mr. Wayde Coleby. Mr. Coleby was a respected member of our community, known for his dedication to family and his unwavering strength of character. His legacy is one of integrity and love, qualities that he instilled in his daughter, who continues to serve our nation with distinction. In these moments of grief, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the bonds that tie us together as a people. Mr. Coleby’s life was a testament to the enduring values of family, hard work, and commitment to one’s community. His passing is not only a loss to his family but also to all who knew him.

As a nation, we share in the sorrow of the Coleby family. We pray that they find comfort and strength during this difficult time. May the memories of Mr. Coleby’s kindness and his enduring spirit provide solace to all who mourn his loss. In this time of bereavement, we stand together in offering our heartfelt sympathy. In a letter of condolence, Pastor Wilbert Jennings, President of the TCI Christian Council expressed his deepest sympathy and sadness over the passing of Pastor Wayde Coleby.

“The Turks and Caicos Christian Council wishes to express our deepest sympathy and sadness over the passing of Pastor Wayde Coleby, a beloved member of the Body of Christ, a Giant in the faith, an anointed Preacher, Teacher and Reacher of the Gospel,” he said.

He added: “The wise man Solomon famously declared that there is a time to live and a time to die, as it is an undeniable statement, we still believe processing this devastating loss can be hard for the entire family, and church family, but one thing we know for sure, God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakest hour. He is well able to wipe away every tear and comfort your hearts.”

The President of the TCI Christian Council said they wish that they could help ease the pain and suffering that the family is experiencing during this time.

He said, “We wish we could help ease the pain and suffering you are experiencing during this time, not only for your family, but the entire church community and the Turks and Caicos at large, as we know Pastor Coleby was loved by many, and because of this, he has left a legacy that the Healing Waters Ministry family, and the entire Turks and Caicos community will forever cherish.”

He added: “To the entire family and church family, we pray that the God of comfort gives you relief from distress, peace of mind, strengthen and comfort your hearts. On behalf of the Executive Committee and the entire Christian Council Body, please accept our deepest sympathies, you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.”
