Experience Turks and Caicos and Ministry of Tourism Responds to

Turks and Caicos Government and the Ministry of Tourism have taken note of the updated U.S. Government’s Travel Advisory for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The following is the statement from Experience Turks and Caicos Regarding the advisory:

The advisory, which has remained at a level 2 since July 2023, does not advise against travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands. The only update is the addition of information related to illegal firearm offenses, which is in place to help ensure the ongoing safety of residents and guests and allows the court to impose a proportionally consistent fine, custodial sentence or both in response.

“We are committed to ensuring that every visitor enjoys a safe, secure, and seamless vacation in our ‘Beautiful by Nature’ destination. While the advisory has not changed in its overall assessment, it reinforces the importance of our strict firearm regulations, which are in place to protect both residents and visitors,” says Minister of Tourism, the Hon, Zhavago Jolly.

“We continue to work closely with law enforcement, tourism stakeholders, and international partners to maintain our reputation as a safe, world-class destination. We encourage all visitors to stay informed, exercise basic travel precautions, and carefully check their luggage to avoid any inadvertent issues. Our goal is for every traveller to fully enjoy their time here, knowing that Turks and Caicos remains one of the safest and most desirable vacation spots in the Caribbean.”
